The Swarm
A community of software developers who build software components for the DevHive platform. Swarm developers license their components on the DevHive platform, and they get paid when their components are used in DevHive applications. As a result, the Swarm continuously develops new and valuable components, and they are more than willing to build custom components for application developers who need them.
The Honeycomb
A rich library of components that are available for (re-)use within DevHive applications. Produced by the Swarm, these components can either be simple technology components, like a ShoppingCart, or something more complex like a ClaimsProcessing module. Components act like building blocks; they greatly speed application development because they can quickly be snapped together to assemble a new DevHive application.
The Hive
The SaaS infrastructure on which applications are deployed. The Hive is a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform built on open standards. The platform provides all the services that are needed for web applications, including: web server, app server, messaging server, database server, SMTP server, chat server, and so on. Best of all, the Hive is built on open standards, so applications that are built on the DevHive platform are not locked into proprietary technologies.
